Michael Wilbon
Michael Wilbon joined
The Washington Post in 1980 as a general assignment sports reporter
and became a full time sports columnist in 1990. In 2001, the Society
of Professional Journalists named Wilbon the top sports columnist of the
year.
He debuted as co-host with Tony Kornheiser on ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption (PTI), a stimulating sports talk show featuring in-depth debate on various topics, in October 2001. This year, Wilbon joined ABC’s coverage of the NBA on NBA Nation with Dan Patrick, Mark Jackson and Jon Barry.
Wilbon worked with
NBA star and friend Charles Barkley and wrote the introductions on his
books titled I May be Wrong, but I Doubt It, and Who’s Afraid
of a Large Black Man?
Wilbon has also appeared on ESPN’s Sports Reporters, and has been on ESPN’s NFL Monday Night Countdown, WRC-TV’s “Redskins Report”, and Full Court Press on NBC’s Washington affiliate.
The Chicago native
graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in
1980. He and his wife Sheryl reside in Bethesda, MD.
